Gadhimai municipality for carrying counterfeit Nepali currency notes amounting to Rs 1,00,500. In a press meet organized on Tuesday, the DPO informed that a team of police personnel led by Inspector Kumar Bikram Thapa detained two persons from Ward-7 of Gadhimai municipality on Monday and seized the fake currency notes from them.
Metropolitan Police Crime Division said it recently arrested one of three persons involved in the theft at the Samakhusi-based JanaMilan Cooperative on April 26, a day after the devastating earthquake struck Nepal.

According to Police Inspector Thapa, police recovered the fake currency notes from Ramdayal Thakur of Parsa district and Mohammad Mustakim Miya, an Indian national, after they stopped the motorcycle (Na 12 Pa 965) they were riding for checking. Thakur, who is currently living in Birgunj, was a proportional representation candidate of Rastriya Yatharthabadi Party in the second Constituent Assembly elections. Miya from Motihari district of the Indian Sate of Bihar was currently staying in a rented flat at Gadhimai municipality.
